Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque black in the glass with a half finger khaki head with good retention and nice lacing. Aroma of dark toasted and biscuit malt, baker's chocolate and coffee. Flavor follows with dark toasted malt with moderate char, baker's and dark chocolate, drip coffee and vanilla. Roasty finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A well made, full flavored roasty stout with coffee like char and good chocolate and vanilla notes. Pleasant mouth feel. The malt depth seems a hair thin, but flavors are nicely balanced and have a great flavor progression and finish. I like this one.
