Clear golden amber brew with plenty of foam in the Brigand chalice. Remarkably grainy, I say. Cereal, buttered French toast, and dried pears. Even tastes more like a Tripel than a Bock with the sweetness and fruity wierdness.
Fragrant with pears and a whiff of fruitcake. This is quite sippable and interesting, but sweet. An unusual sort of malt bomb. From the 16 oz can purchased at Johns Marketplace.

Poured from 16oz can into a dimpled mug. Canned 3/16/21.
Appearance: light golden body; totally clear and haze-free. There's a moderate apparent effervescence and a finger of nice frothy foam atop. I dig it!
Smell: quite grainy, and yet with a bit of sweetness and not astringent. There's kind of a floral, fruity character going on as well; it's quite nice indeed.
Taste: a bit sweet, but it is nicely offset by the grain character up front and an appropriate bitterness at the end. The fruity character comes through in the flavor as well; almost a pear-like quality that I rather like.
Mouthfeel: medium-light body with a big carbonation and really rather a nice carbonation. I dig it.
Overall: I think this is one of the better helles bocks/maibocks that I've had. I find it rather growing on me as well; it's got enough balance and interest to be very enjoyable.
