Pours jet black with a finger and a half of khaki tan foam. Aroma is strong, strong coffee with roasty, toasty, and caramely malts behind. Coffee is forward, with a nice round roastiness that carries a great balance. Maple adds a little bit of sweetness to the back. Flavor profile is maple first (surprisingly) followed by huge coffee notes. Coffee is fantastically paired with the underlying roasty and toasty malts. There is medium bitterness to the coffee, with some great underlying fruity flesh notes. Mouth feel is creamy with medium-thick consistency. It's not overly huge, but still packs a lot of presence. Overall, a fantastic stout with quality coffee and maple notes too. Balance leans slightly towards maple, but is otherwise sublime.
In all honesty, I'd choose this before Mornin' Delight as the coffee is more forward.
