All work and no play makes James a dull boy. To keep you from your darkest desires, we made this Black Lager. Brewed in the traditional Schwarzbier style. While this lager's heart may be dark, the taste is crisp and approachable.

Pours a dark brown with burgundy shining through the sides when held against light. Head is two fingers of fluffy tan foam. Aroma is roasty, toasty, caramely, bready malts with soft toffee. Lightly sweet, but mild overall. Flavor profile is toasty, caramely, bready, and earthy malts for a smoothing bite of dark bread. Mouth feel is thin with a fuzzy start that almost immediately settles down to a still texture. Overall, dark bread and smooth. It's very mild, but allows the drinker to cater to the craving for dark beer without the high alcohol or weight.

16oz can. Poured out an opaque, jet-black color with a small, khaki-colored head of bubbly foam. It left thin rings of lace on the glass. It smelled of roasted coffee, some campfire smoke, caramel and toffee. Nice roasted coffee taste with a hint of smoke and toffee.
