Meet ꜱᴀɪꜱᴏɴ ꜱᴇʀꜰᴇʀ! This Rye Saison spent 6 months in an American Oak foeder, utilizing a unique blend of filtered water retrieved from nearly 250 miles away from the brewery.
Sweet and spicy characteristics linger throughout and are bolstered with a touch of sour and funk imparted by the mixed culture of Brettanomyces and Lactobacillus.
Ride the wave and get pitted with a taste that's out-of-this-world!

A: Pours a dark orange/reddish color. A dense two finger white head forms with excellent retention and plenty of lace left behind.
S: A dusty, musty, basement like "funk" up front that I love. Fruity esters of apples and pears. Peppery spice and baked bread. This is really well done.
T: Follows the nose with plenty of basement like funk and fruity esters, with apple skins and pears. Peppery spice and baked bread again from the rye. Maybe some caramelized apples, and sweetness, but a great acidic tartness dries everything out in the finish.
M/O: A medium to full body. Effervescent carbonation, and finishes dry. There is a bit of a tannin like quality here as well. This all leads to a really enjoyable and easy to drink Saison.
This is pretty complex, and like a good American Saison, just a wonderful and balanced mix of a lot of things. From the yeast character, acidic tartness, a nice malt character from the rye, and even a bit of tannin from the oak. It is all really well balanced and just excellent.
