Oak Aged Sour Ale with Italian Plums
A blend of 20 month Cabernet Sauvignon barrel aged sour ale, which underwent refermentation on 118lbs of second use wild Italian plums, and new American oak aged foeder beer. Oak, pineapple, earthy funk and plum on the nose. A melange of bright fruit flavors enveloped in oak and a hint of vanilla and some minerality dissolves into vinous notes and subtle plum. Dry, acidic, & complex finish of oak tannins, grape skins, and plum noyaux.

A: The beer is relatively clear yellow in color and has a moderate to high amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a half finger high white head that died down a bit but never completely faded away.
S: Moderate aromas of vanilla like oak are present in the nose along with hints of grapes and plums.
T: The taste is nearly a mirror image to the smell, except that the flavors of grapes and plums are a bit stronger - they're mostly noticeable towards the finish.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: If you like the aromas and flavors of vanilla imparted by oak barrel aging, this is a really nice beer. I didn't really get any sourness and the fruit flavors are very subtle.
