Silt is a New England-Style Double IPA brewed with boatloads of Galaxy and Citra hops. Notes of peach, citrus, and tropical fruit. This is the DIPA we always dreamed of brewing.

Purchased at Iron and Glass. The look on this one was a light orangeish color. The aroma was very nice with the smell of tropical fruits and citrus. Pineapple, peach, and mango were all present. The Citra and Galaxy worked perfect with each other and gave a slight dankness to this beer. Little to no bitterness at the finish with a bit of sweetness. These guys are doing a nice job of turning out quality beers.

16oz can, picked up fresh at the brewery. Murky apricot colored ale is capped with a foamy ivory head. Super juicy aroma fills the nose with tropical fruit, green hops, mango, and citrus. Assertive and bold flavors coat the palate with juicy awesomeness: mango, tangerine, grapefruit, melon, green hops, and apricot. Full body, smooth and a bit resinous, finish is bittersweet while being juicy through the finish. With a mix of hops I could not resist, this proved to be a winner for me!

Definitely has the “hazy” in hazy double iPA down. Looks like a dark pineapple juice. Minimal head and lacing. It seems like it’s now a world of “how cloudy can you make your IPA?” and these guys jumped right in.

Like a lot of this style, smell is the best category. Galaxy and Citra hops bring it big time here. Huge citrus notes of orange and pineapple with a hint of bitterness. Excellent hop profile from two of my favorites.

Unfortunately like a lot of this style, the taste doesn’t live up to the promise of the smell. It’s just not that strong. Nicest way to describe it is subtle, another way to describe it is underwhelming. I know the can I’m rating has a little age on it, but I doubt it’s faded that much. Plenty of juicy citrus, mildly bitter, but really hoped for more based on what the smell foretold.

Light body for a double IPA. Mouth watering, good alcohol presence, and an easy sipper, but like with the taste, it just seems like it’s a bit underwhelming.

It’s a very good beer, and maybe there’s some aging that brought it down, but I think it’s missing just a little bit something that would make it awesome. If I see it again, I’ll definitely buy it. Considering how new they are, they can only go up.

L - 1/2 finger offwhite head atop a milky yellow body.

S - mango, pineapple, melon, herb.

T - follows the nose. Tropical fruits galore, with a hop burn on the finish. Low bitterness. Moderate-low sweetness. Low booziness.

F - medium body and carb.

O - all about the Galaxy.

16oz can (from can release on 5/26/19) poured into HF stemmed wine glass.

Appearance: Hazy and opaque gold orange body with full 3 fingers of bone white head.

Smell: Big peach, tropical fruit, juicy melon rind, and dankness in the aroma. Spicy & zest yeast aroma as well.

Taste: Light bitterness at the start of this brew that builds to a moderate bitterness in the finish. Oranges and mangoes and peach sweetness start off this beer. Melon notes and general tropical flavors are transitional flavors. Finishes with pine, grass, and grapefruit. These flavors are drying and dank which potentiates the bitterness in the finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium bodied beer with carbonation levels on the lower end of medium.

Overall: Had this beer from a very freshly filled crowler as well as on draft at the source a few times. Silt tastes so much better on draft. The bitterness seems to be increased in the cans. Still a fantastic hazy DIPA with a power house combo of Citra and Galaxy hops. I feel like this beer is a bit more heavy handed on the galaxy which is fine by me. Very enjoyable. I expect great things from this brewery.

Released 5/24/19; drank 5/26/19 @ the Yarchives.

Opaque dull orange/yellow appearance.

A violent pour yielded a nice eggshell head; strong, frothy lace.

Honeydew melon, mango, cream & dry orange peel notes in the nose.

Soft, medium mouthfeel.

Orange citrus & honeydew melon flavors up front; dry grass, table sugar & mild cream notes on the finish.

This looks & smells the part...not bad!

Had on tap. Beautiful heavy yellow pour with a thin white head. Smell was tropical fruit based: pineapple, passion fruit, mango, with peach, orange and a touch of hops supporting. Taste was very smooth and gentle, with fruit bursting through the palate, with some citra hops especially coming through on the finish. Body is a little light, but hides the booze better than grandma, making it highly crushable
