A slight shift in the earth below, a violent rush of water upriver, and a deluge of flavor. With Our friends over at Whiskey Hill Brewing Company, we smashed out a heavy stout with bold flavors that crash like massive waves of richness across your palate.

16oz tallboy poured into Durobar Charente stemmed bulb.

Appearance: Pours thicker than motor oil and is black as the dirtiest motor oil imaginable. Medium Brown head pours thick and has a delayed response that will overfill a glass if you get too heavy handed with your pour.

Smell: The peanut butter jumps out immediately and is the big aroma of this stout! Milk chocolate and really deep toasted marshmallow notes. Not quite pulling out the coconut from the nose. Damn this stout smells like it's to die for!

Taste: Big peanut butter is exactly what the aroma promised and the flavor profile has delivered. Smooth milk chocolate notes abound. Hint of vanilla and coconut seems to assert themselves here for a brief moment then fade into the finish. The finish on this is definitely heavily toasted and almost to the point of a barrel charred note. This gives a perceived flavor of barrel aging, but it wasn't. It also transformed the milk chocolate flavors into a dark chocolate / flour-less chocolate cake type notes in the finish that are deliciously rich without being cloying because it is so rightly balanced. All the adjuncts are impressively authentic in flavor profile.

Mouthfeel: This is one ridiculously creamy & silky thick thick bodied stout. Full bodied stout. Low and adequate carbonation. The abv on this stout is completely hidden.

Overall: Just when you think you are burnt out on pastry stouts... a really memorable one comes along. Riverlands peanut butter stouts are among my favorite beers from this brewery and this one is really special stout from them.
