One of a series called CRUSHED!, and is a variant from the 2019 harvest. This beer blends the gap between beer and wine... It is bone dry with a tame acidity level and a lovely natural carbonation! We are excited to share our take on the vinous flavors of the FLX!

Gem clear in a Pretentious Beer Glass Co. dimpled mug. I'm using my 12oz Sparkles mug. The beer is ruby red with an energetic, soft pink, cherrywood head that reaches 1.5". The head quickly retreats to a ring, leaving no lace.
Initially, sour grapes come to mind, followed by sweet red wine. The grapes are very prominent, yet this clearly remains beer. The background has pine straw, earthiness, and modest oak.
The flavor is tart, reminiscent of a Flanders Red, and might actually pass as that style. It is quite acidic, with bitter cherries, currents and cranberries. Sweetness dose keep it all in check. The finish is modest, almost non-existent, though it lingers like a memory of each sip.
The texture is hard and sharp, like a horse hair shirt against the light body. Alcohol is as expected, although without any heat or fumes. Carbonation is a fine, energetic ever-present partner.
Crushed is similar to Flander Red in many respects, yet certainly not to be mistaken as such. Tart dryness makes this a thirst quencher, and I wonder how it would pair with balsamic glaze over grilled salmon.
