Thin foam cap. Regular beer color and an almost neutral smell.

Tastes mildy malty with a light grainy taste. Fair amount of bitterness. Tastes like an average lager to me. Beats out San Miguel Light any day of the week. Quality seems pretty good. Have had better and worse lagers in Canada.
Hand this beer out to anyone at a party and nobody would complain.
Would drink again.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a clear golden color with tiny fizzy head of white foam. The head fades almost instantly leaving almost no lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strong of a grainy and bready smell mixed with notes of caramel and toffee. Along with these are notes of apple and a bit of toast.
Taste – The taste begins with a smooth caramel and grainy flavor mixed with notes of dough and some toffee. Along with these flavors is a touch of earth and notes of apple. As the taste advances the graininess fades a tad all while the sweet gets slightly higher, leaving one with a crisp but slightly sweeter lager taste on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body is light to medium with a moderate carbonation level.
Overall – A slightly sweeter, but flavorful and easy natured lager. Overall, rather nice.

A very pleasant find from Sydney's Oak Barrel. UnTappd styled this as a Pils-Other. So with fewer options, I styled this as a German Pils since that style goes lighter on the hops, much like Live It Up.

Live It Up could Look more lively as its foam is minimal, although it has a nice golden. Smells are mostly sweet malt and barely interesting. Tastes are balanced, but not much more (and in this case, that is enough to satisfy.) Mouth is just below medium and quite soft. And as such, this Lager went quite well with a subtle Vietnamese noodle dish that lots of hops would have interfered with the food's subtleties.

Engkanto's website has a video "Reimagine What's Possible" which is a very healthy for an eight year old micro to do. Improve what you do. Offering something special is particularly important when San Miguel has some 90% of the Filipino market. So Engkanto is likely to succeed, but I still give them very good Overall Hugs and wishes them well.
