A belgian table beer with rose hips and smoked malt.
This was the Establishment's International Women's day pink book society brew.
Canned Mar 30/21. So pouring from a fairly fresh can.
Appearance - Pours a clear straw with three fingers of dense frothy white head.
Smell - belgian yeast, smoked malts, hint rose hips, slight essence of coriander, hint of spicy hops, and biscuity malts.
Taste - belgian yeast upfront. The smoked malts is the predominant flavour. The hint of rose hips and essence of coriander are lost in translation from the smoked malts. The hops are there but can't detect them in the taste. The biscuity malts round out the brew.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes sticky with all elements lingering.
Overall - An easy drinking brew but for me this one misses the mark. The smoked malts are the predominant flavour and the rose hips are lost in translation alongside all other elements. This one is just a tad mild for me.
