Pub ale on the hand pump.
White head with lace. Dark golden color. Clear.
Biscuit, honey crackers, toffee. Orange/marmalade. Some caramel.
Excellent flavor and feel for such a low abv beer.

Appearance: Poured with a single finger of head that disappeared almost immediately and left no lacing. The body, while a nice light copper color shows a small amount of slow carbonation.
Smell: Toffee malt, very reminiscent of Werther's original candy, I think maybe a bit of orange citrus in the background as well, hard to tell. Potency is decent.
Taste: Toffee malt with a hint of orange starts us off and then turns to a measured hit of earthy hops that linger as a dry dust note at the end. It's basic, and to the point and for a mere 3.6% it is bringing something to the table, just not a lot.
Mouthfeel: The carbonation being so low really hampers this beer, as does that dry dusty note at the end that lingers for a bit to long. That said, transitioning is good, and nothing really gets out of control here. It's really just that there is little to say on this front.
Drinkability: Well it's certainly a session ale, that is for sure. You can put this stuff back almost as fast as water. Very light body, but as expected for a beer with this low an ABV. It just needs more punch to it, as it's just a bit too mild.
Final Thoughts: I don't recall the last time I had a beer in this style that was this low ABV, so I looked it up and I've had too. One did not fare well, and the other was Scottish in original and had the benefit of both nitro and a smokey quality. This one also regrettably falls into the former category. There's nothing bad or offensive on this beer, but it's just not bringing enough to the table. More then most light lagers mind you, but still I think you'd be better served on this one trying to hit closer to 4.5 ABV, just to give it more of a malt taste.
