French for Court of Appeals, Cour D'Appel or Cored Apple is our take on a French Farm Ale, seasonal and reminiscent of a fall harvest. Taste notes include cinnamon, apple, light and fruity.

Reviewed less than a week after release. Pint pour at the brewery. It pours a hazy, golden-orange color with more than a finger of creamy, eggshell-colored head that resembles frothy egg whites, and thick, soapy lacing. There is ground cinnamon in the beer and a dusting of it on the head. It's a very attractive presentation. On the nose there is potent cinnamon and apple along with coriander, clove, and other Belgian spices. The taste opens with fresh apple slices and cinnamon, along with lemon peel, banana, clove, coriander, and crackery malt. It's tangy, mildly sweet, clean and refreshing. There is a touch of spice at the finish but with very little bitterness (7 IBU). It's a very tasty Saison; I've never had anything quite like it. The mouth feel is lite and crisp with a pleasant level of carbonation, and it's a very easy drinker at 4.2% ABV. Overall, Cour D'Appel is impressive; it's an inspired recipe neatly executed.
