Pours a clear yellow with fine head.

Smell is clean, crisp and crackery. Notes of citrus, wheat dough and hints of rye and knäckebröd.

Taste is clean, crisp and crackery. Notes of citrus, knäckebröd, wheat dough and rye. Slightly spicy with a moderate bitterness, but a metallic tinge that disturbs a little.

Mouthfeel is medium, a bit creamy and well carbonated.

Overall, a nice, drinkable pilsner.

0,4 liters vom fass at Gasthof Hammer in Vilseck. Really not a bad German Pils. Enjoyable beer to start with. Fresh, crisp, a bit funky and grainy. Dry, finishes well, easy drinking. And for €2,90, a no brainer.

(500 ml flip-top bottle, best before L125I054 - before 5 May 2018... poured into simple glass mug)

L: fairly-clear, pale yellow-gold liquid; rather tall, rocky, laces well and still lays out jagged contour with each subsequent refill... no sediment in bottle; rather chunky lace

S: white bread, crushed lemon, bits of grass and dried flowers; not sharp and bright aromas, but relatively potent

T: thick doughy-malty underbelly, cracker; grainy, grassy, herbal coloring, with a soft floral-spicy bite, vague orange and lemon overtones... only marginally bitter at this point

F: liquid bread all the way... soft, foamy, delicately chewy... hop resins and proteins cling to the palate; very slight clip far on the back end

O: any stridently-fresh edge to it has definitely died off, but its core foundation is rather nice - very bready, grainy - wasn't expecting any character to the malt, but it has some... I do have another bottle in the fridge with this date as well as another with a best by for 2017 - curious to compare

Very average beer. Taste is ok. Looks ok. Best thing about it is the bottle it comes in - champagne style top - that gives it a modicum of dignity.

500 ml bottle into lager glass, best before L092F054 code. Pours slightly hazy pale golden yellow color with a small dense white head with great retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of cracker, white bread, light honey, and mild herbal/grassy earthiness. Bit of fruity aromas, but not too overwhelming. Okay aromas with pale malt and mild earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of cracker, white bread, light honey, and mild herbal/grassy earthiness. Very mild herbal/grassy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of cracker, white bread, light honey, and mild herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice robustness of pale malt and mild earthy hop flavors; with a solid malt/bitterness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Fairly clean on lager flavors, not overly fruity. Slightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a smooth, fairly bready/grainy, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that is okay. Thin, but not too watery. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.9%. Overall this is is a pretty solid German pilsener. Nice robustness of pale malt and mild earthy hop flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the minimally bitter/drying finish. Obviously not fresh, but not bad. Fairly clean pils malts and mild hop balance. Would likely be much better fresh. Not as crisp/refreshing as it should be. Fairly enjoyable.

Clear deep gold. White head then it's gone. Smell of herbal hops. Cracker.the taste is the same as the smell. Heavy carbonation, but lighter in character.

A: Hazy yellow with peachy tones. Active carbonation, and a small head that dissipates quickly.

S: Light fruity aroma, with hints of apple and light honey.

T: Crisp and clean flavor. Apple and light grain, with a mild hop bite.

M: Light bodied, moderately carbonated. Appropriate for the style

O: Overall this is a good pilsner from Germany. Not as hoppy as many of the American interpretations but still and enjoyable beer.
