This New England style IPA has an intense tropical fruit flavour and aroma from a massive dose of both Mosaic and Australian Galaxy hops. A heavy dry-hopping further adds to the flavour intensity while keeping it less bitter than a typical IPA. Smooth, hazy and juicy, Fountain Green will satisfy all your hop-loving desires.
Nestled in the rocky hills of the Niagara Escarpment, along the Black Creek, lies a tiny settlement once called Fountain Green. Known for its rich lime industry, the village was renamed Limehouse in the mid-1800s. Today, the natural landscape in and around the area is spectacular, a hidden paradise. Our NEIPA is a fitting tribute with its citrus hop and a taste referred to by many as “Paradise hidden in a can.”

Poured a 375ml can into a pint glass. A big 4 finger fine white head on a cloudy apricot. The head sticks around to the end. Lots of lacing.
Citrus hop smells.
A nice fruity taste burst.
Medium body and carbonation.
Overall smooth creamy and well balanced.

Review from notes. LCBO purchase for around $3.50 CDN and served into a pint glass.
Appearance - Hazy golden color with yellow highlights. Two fingers of head with moderate staying power and some lacing left behind. Good bubbliness.
Smell - Light tropical notes initially, some grapefruit and passionfruit most distinctly. Mandarin orange shows as well with a touch of fleshy stone fruits. Great balance however, not the most robust nose.
Taste - Pretty much like the nose with a more acute impact from the orange and passionfruit. Peach accents at the end, while the grapefruit is present but more of an afterthought. Solid malt base in the background.
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied but a bit flat carbonation wise. Booziness isn't high but is noticeable which isn't the best for a 6% ABV type beer.
Overall - Better than I expected and a nice delicate balance with a lot going on. If the nose was significantly more pronounced, the whole beer would carry better and this would be one of the best local products. As it stands a solid entry but more middle of the pack.

473 mL can from the LCBO; dated Apr 20 2021 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a foggy golden-yellow colour, generating nearly an inch of foamy, bubbly white head that settles off within the next several minutes. It's reduced to a tight collar of soapy suds and a filmy cap, with a beautiful coat of messy lacing also thrown about in its wake - looks great. Very citrusy on the nose - orange and grapefruit in particular, but also hints of tropical fruit, apricot and floral hops, with a slight touch of wheaty, grainy pale malts.
It's a serviceable IPA, featuring flavours of peach, passion fruit, mandarin orange slices in syrup and just a hint of cantaloupe. The fruitiness is intertwined with floral, grassy hop bitterness on the back end, with hints of resin and stone fruit lingering into a hoppy aftertaste; slight hint of alcohol, too, with very mild hop burn. Medium in body, with average carbonation that lends a bit of spritz to this brew's smooth, slightly slick mouthfeel. Fair drinkability for the style, but one serving was enough for me.
Final Grade: 3.73, a B grade. Furnace Room's Fountain Green is fine for what it is - passable but unspectacular, and while I wouldn't discourage any hopheads from trying it, I doubt I'll be returning on a regular basis. The fruity, hop-dominated flavour profile and aromas are nice and all, but they're nothing new to anyone who consumes this style on the regular. Worth a look, at the very least, but in a sea of similar beers, this one just blends right in.
