473 ml can served col in to a pint glass. Review from notes.

Appearance - bright and clear golden color with bronze hues. Big multiple finger head rests on top.

Smell - Muted, then stale hops, sticky pine notes and loads of caramel sweetness.

Taste - Matches up with the nose, adding some melon flavors and adding more sweetness.

Mouthfeel - Pretty good, appropriate carbonation, sticky feel works well with the flavors.

Overall - A decent if unspectacular more old school west coast type of IPA although the melon flavors blur that line quite a bit. Worth a try, but better products are readily available.

I haven't tasted this one yet and I am calling foul. The beer (double IPA at that!) pours like a lager, allowing a clear visual through the glass. Not what I wanted to see. The nose has some faint hop scent, but it's mixed with mass produced lager weasel piss smell. I am now worried.
The taste however is not horrific, although it's clearly not what an IPA supposed to taste like. This is a hoppy lager in every which way you approach it. I know that all breweries try to cater to the popular styles, but if you are not an expert, don't. No disrespect to the no doubt fine folks at Furnace.
Then again, looking at the rating of all their beer, I am not sure what I expected.
So not a drain pour, not horrible, but it definitely isn't what it promises. If you thirst for an IPA, buy a proper IPA, not some vague imitation.

473 mL can from the LCBO; packaged Jan 4 2022 and served slightly chilled.

Pours a clear medium golden colour, kicking up an inch of smooth, foamy, sparkling white head that lasts for just over five minutes' time, leaving behind a generous swath of lumpy, sticky lace in the process. A rocky quarter-inch cap and creamy collar of suds survive afterwards - looks fantastic in the glass. It smells of mandarin orange, with hints of peach drink, pineapple, doughy malt and maybe a whiff of mango.

Not bad at all - bready pale malts and a light honeyed sweetness start things off, with fruitier hop flavours coming through shortly thereafter. Grapefruit, orange, mango and pineapple are there, but none of them really pop IMO; besides, they're blunted by the earthier, more resiny & spicy bitterness that comes to dominate the tail end of the sip, lingering into the aftertaste. Medium full body, with low-ish carbonation that weakly brushes the tongue; feels smooth, soft and slick, a tad tongue-coating. On the light side for a DIPA, with that 8% being very well masked/integrated - it's very drinkable, but still hits you like you'd expect... that is to say, when you stand up.

Final Grade: 3.75, squeaking out a B+. I like Furnace Room's Fermentator, and I'll be buying a few more cans from this very fresh batch. Would I drive out of my way for more of this? I doubt it - this is merely a good DIPA, not an outstanding one, but if I'm just in the mood for something strong and hoppy and it happens to be there, I could still see myself returning on a semi-regular basis. One of their better offerings thus far, and very much worth a try.

I bought a can at the LCBO in Ontario
473ml at 8%.
Poured a 2 finger head into glass that quickly disappeared but leaves a lace as you drink it.
Lots of tropical fruit flavors and malty with a medium to high bitterness level
Clear golden Copper color slow carbonation.
Overall smooth and tasty double IPA.
Cheers.
