A: dark black in color with a tab head
S: light caramel, hint of extract. Maybe some almond.
T: roasty and a touch sharp, perhaps some ash. Maybe some lactose in there.
M: medium in body, slightly elevated carbonation.
O: drinks now like a porter to me, there is a sharpness that is off putting. Not terrible, not great.

From the bottom of the can: "01/20/22 I MEAN, WHY NOT"
Appearance: The beer is black in the glass but a very slight mahogany hue glints off the glass at the edge when the light strikes it just right. The head is medium sized, thick looking, creamy textured, and light tan. It has very good retention and has nice creamy webs and sheets of lacing.
Aroma: There is a light aroma of cocoa with a pleasant hint of burnt wood in the background.
Taste: Coffee comes through up front, then there is a light bit of burnt wood that follows. Towards the middle of the mouth it has a bit of a toasted cinnamon roll character but not quite cinnamon; just enough flavor to give it that impression. Notes of coffee and light cocoa in the middle and a more bitter take on the aforementioned in the back of the palate and aftertaste. The flavors in the beer are noteworthy.
Mouthfeel: It has a nice medium-full body that float mostly in the full category. Carbonation is great and it has a nice slickness.
Overall: It's a pretty rock-solid beer. The aromas are a bit muted but they are good, and the flavors are on point. The texture of the beer is very nice and as a whole it is just a very well made and enjoyable beer. I will be on the lookout for more beers from this brewery. I would buy it again and I would recommend it.
