appears a very dark brown in color, thick creamy khaki colored head. Very nice mix of moderately roasty, nutty flavor and dark cocoa. Medium bodied, smooth mouthfeel

From the can, it pours a clear brown with reddish highlights and has a nice light brown head that slowly reduces and does leave a bit of lacing. The nose definitely gets pecan and roasted malts. The mouth tastes nuts, some roasted malts and some bitterness.

From the bottom of the can: "05/23/22"
On the bottom the text is squished, but it also appears to say: "FIRST TIME 4 EVERYTHING"

Appearance: The body looks nearly black, with a very dark brown color showing at the edges of the glass. Although it looks dark it has good clarity. The head is thick and frothy with a tan appearance. It has very good head retention and thick loafs of lacing.

Aroma: It has a pleasant aroma that smells a bit like burnt brown sugar with hints of toasted nuts and a light bourbon-like char. The aroma is excellent and smells a bit like a mixture between a sweets shop and a bakery, but mellow enough that it never becomes overbearing. It smells fantastic.

Taste: Up front there is loads of caramel and toffee with hints of coffee and burnt toast. Towards the middle the flavor stays mostly the same, but the sweetness subsides and it takes on a more bitter note with hints of char. Towards the back of the mouth the bitterness is accentuated even more and takes on a more coffee-like flavor. It has a light coffee aftertaste with a slight toffee sweetness that lingers.

Mouthfeel: It feels medium-bodied that leans very slightly on the lighter end. Carbonation feels good. It has a light bitterness but is balanced more in favor of sweetness. It is pleasant to drink.

Overall: The label on the can says it is an "English Style Brown Ale brewed with freshly roasted pecans." It definitely has a nutty character but it doesn't quite taste like pecans. However, it does have a lot of the flavors commonly used with pecans when making desserts. The beer is certainly enjoyable and anyone with a sweet tooth who also enjoys coffee or darker tea would definitely want to pick it up. It can be hard to find a good Brown Ale and this one has just the right combination of toasty and sweet flavors. I would definitely buy it again.
