a pretty well refined beer, and a subgenre i see a low of small breweries get wrong. this is golden and bright in the glass under a high white head from the tap, creamy looking, fuller bodied but not thick as a beer, still light with all the bubbles, nice luster to it. its hoppy like an american pale in the nose and the taste as well, not generic, but not unique or different either, seems like a real familiar mix of hops it terms of their complexion here, but the oats seem to extend the hops, bring them up closer to the front of this, and even though its a known flavor profile, its definitely a unique trajectory, and the oats are to thank for that. the hops start early, pop with preserved lemon and herbal tea-like qualities, some light pine comes in the middle, and even a little bitterness from them at the end lingering past the swallow to balance a honey sweet note in the malt. the fermentation is clean, the proportions are excellent, and the oats make it feel soft and smooth and lathery to me, definitely beefing up the body. the oats add a lot, this would be just another pale without them, but as it stands its a nice recipe and its been very well executed here, quite professional, drinkable, and good. i was impressed with the two beers i drank in here, these guys seem to be doing a real nice job. a sturdy pale for the winter here!
