A pilsner which is dressed up like a pale ale. Hoppy, medium bodied, bright and little residual sweetness. A spicy draught demonstrating the best parts of rye malt. Slight haze from the rye as to be expected. Hop forward for the style. A definite must try.

i was super impressed with these guys when i visited awhile back, and was stoked to see some cans on a beer list at a local pub in ogden. sadly, this was over a year old, and should definitely have been removed right now. i wish there was a way for these small guys to better police their quality, truly unacceptable. the good news, is that the beer is still drinkable, probably a testament to the competency of these guys, although there is no way it tastes like this when it is fresh, although, im not even sure its a conventional pils at its best, this is maltier than is traditional, both in terms of a slightly richer color and body, but also more grain flavor, to me more earthy and less crackery, a little baked, but also a little spicy, more than just standard pils malt in here, that is for sure. once i get past the tiredness and the sag of the beer past its prime, i enjoy the grain depth, the snappy hops that have retained their bitterness in the finish, and a flavorful lager yeast strain as well, i think this is a fine recipe and all the elements come together pretty nicely, i just wish it was fresher because this has a ton of potential but is not great with this much time on it, no surprise there. to me this is more an issue with the bar than the brewery, so i will not be too harsh on it, especially because the upside here is enormous...

16 oz can from the brewery store. Pours clear gold with a tall coarse white head. Aroma: malt, cracker, straw, hint of soap. Taste: sweet malt, hops like you would expect from a pilsner, but a little subdued. Pretty good.
