This was another beer that I picked up when I was in Downtown Salt Lake City not too long ago. Never had anything from Level Crossing before and I'll admit that the artfully designed label drew me into this. Thankfully, the liquid inside the can was just as enjoyable as this was a nicely crafted Imperial IPA that didn't quite feel as strong as it's listed ABV, although I best appreciated this once it fully warmed up!
As expected, the appearance to this was golden and nicely translucent with a full head that wasn't terribly deep but thankfully, took it's time to settle down. Lots of lacing was left behind as the sheets were quite thick and extensive, although there weren't any rings discernible amongst the suds. Stone fruit, candied sugar, and leathery hops were in the nose as there was quite a bit of papaya, guava, turbid melon, white chocolate, and dank hops in the taste. Deep lime and weed emerged in the aftertaste as this was quite complex and really came into it's own once it fully warmed up.
This didn't have a lot of carbonation to it as it felt quite thick on the palate but thankfully, the range and depth of the flavors was enough to offset this deficiency. This looked like it was dated 8/26, as it looked like it had "BIG BROWN BRAD" written below that as this held up well during my ride home and the time since my return in November. Lots to enjoy here for those who want a heavy-handed Imperial IPA, with a style all it's own!

16 oz can from Toby. Medium golden, light, spritz head. More of a malt focus, Light hoppy presence. Lingers for a while and ABV becomes more prevalent.

Look: Pours a burnt orange with about a half inch of white head.
Smell: Getting hints of orange, banana, tangerine, citrus. Seems to be citra and mosaic hops going on. Pretty dank beer
Taste: Lots of tropical and citrus flavors - orange, melon, pineapple, tangerine. Bitter hops but juicy.
Feel. Medium body, the hops are pretty bitter but this one is a pretty easy drinker if you’re into DIPAs.
Overall: I was pleasantly surprised with this offering; was my first one from Level Crossing and I’ll definitely check out more of their beer.
