Not sure what to make of the name...Cool??? Lame??? Just not sure. What is the prohibition era reference?? Or is it b/c the the Merchant of Venice movie is coming out soon?
Plastic gold color body, heavy and still in the glass. White collar of small bubble foam from the pour. Unimpressive but strangely mesmerizing. Nose is lightly sweet and heavy.
Taste has a warm and heavy feel -- but largely neutral, like bread soaked up by appley sweet malts. The 40 IBUs don't show, nor does the 7.2% booze. Not too sweet -- dry champagne. Real minimal grain taste, alot like a bodiful malt liquor..
