Black in the middle, dark brown to the edges, tan 1/2" head. Aroma covered up the roast a little with some barrel notes.
Taste was a good mix, roast and bitterness subdued in exchange for the barrel notes. A little more boozy. Goes sweeter. Could be just the vanilla that is noticeable tricking me.
A decent beer, I'm down with Speakeasy's barrel program. Nothing first tier, but nothing bad either.

Came out a very dark brown that prolly had more black to it. Aroma was less roasty than the base version.
Taste, again, seemed to swap out hops and roastiness for a little more alcohol from a minor contingent of bourbon flavor. Vanilla came up on the back end, finishing with a nice nuance to it. I think I like the base version better, I like the hoppy and roasty porter moreso than the bourbon, sweet and stronger version here.
