On tap for the 4th Anniversary event at Blue Palms Brewhouse in Los Angeles, CA.
Pours an almost opaque super dark crimson-brown with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a small cap on top of the beer. Foamy rings of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, wheat, toast, and caramel. Taste is much the same with a slight tartness and some slight cocoa and coffee flavors. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that is drinkable but nothing I would get again.

A - Served a cloudy dark black color with a touch of chocolate frothy head. The head fades down fairly quickly leaving behind some light lace.
S - Aroma is a mix of Bourbon, oak, vanilla, roasted chocolate, wheat, and booze.
T - Starts off with some roasted and burnt chocolate malts with some Bourbon and wheat. Through the middle, some more Bourbon comes through with some more oak and vanilla with some sweet wheat and a touch of dark fruit. The finish is a mix of Bourbon, vanilla, oak, lots of roasted malts and some booze.
M - Medium-full bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a warming and sweet finish.
D - Very drinkable. Big and bold, with lots of barrel character, but the flavor blend together pretty nicely.

This was on tap in February (?) for Beer Revolution's 2nd Anniversary Party. I can't believe I'm the first to upload this, almost five months later -- but I think people want to forget how bad it was.
Described as a "barrel-aged black wheat." From [poor] notes.
A: Pours a dark mahogany body (edges) that darkens to black in the glass.
S: Slightly sour roasted grain, tart cherries (infected?), caramel, oxidized hops. Oak, mild bourbon.
T: As on the nose, mild barrel. It has nice schwartzbier-like characteristics, reminding me of the toasted, slightly roasty grain flavor of (say) Death & Taxes, with caramel and an odd cherry finish that doesn't gel well with the rest of the beer. Oxidized hop aftertaste.
O: I wound up not finishing it. The name was pretty damn accurate.
