perhaps my favorite of the beers i had here at crossbuck, an awesome spot! this one is done with all cryo hops, a few different varietals i think, and its lightly hazy but not really like a new england type to me, its lighter than that, without all that much from the grain, and packs some late bitterness, really a dynamic, fresh, and compelling brew, maybe even the best hoppy beer i had in the walla walla area last week! its pale yellow, straw colored with a light golden glow, soft haze but still letting most of the light pass through, and holding a fizzy white head, looks great in the glass. the nose is ripe melon, heady sativa, and pineapple candy, i would guess some el dorado and citra at least, although i am not sure what all they use. the cryo hops allow for this higher dosage without the green bite, so this is really pungent and the hops start nice and early in the flavor, not confined to the back half like typical dry hopping often develops, it pops right away. pineapple more and more as it warms, some green grape, very fruity but not necessarily juicy in the classic sense, some light coconut giving it a tropical layer too, distinctive and fresh, real clean overall as well which i love in these, dry and fast finish, lighter body, minimal grain profile, crushable for its strength, effervescent carbonation, this hits on every level for me. overall a modern and nicely executed ipa, great use of the cryo goodness!
