Positive Launch is a tip of our hats here at Phase Three to Evan and his crew overseas. We brewed up a 7.7% DIPA and switched up what normally comprises the grain bill as oats and/or wheat and replaced it with flakes and malted rye, a perfect winter grain.
We loaded it up with El Dorado, Idaho 7 and Amarillo hops. Notes of peach, candies cherry and oranges are in abundance.

Tasted in a Spiegelau IPA glass from a one pint can on December 22, 2019. Rye India Pale Ale brewed with Idaho 7, Amarillo and El Dorado hops. Notes of peach and sweet citrus.

Had on tap at Orange and Brew. I had this one after drinking a Hubbard's Cave Fresh IIPA V 40. And to be honest this one fell way short of the Hubbard's Cave beer. By comparison this one was way thinner and almost tasted watered down. I've had a couple Phase Three beers that have been really good but also a couple that have fallen short of expectations. It's possible I just need to re-adjust my expectations.

Faded orangey gold body with a sudsy white ring. Aromas of citrus rind, papaya, nectarine, slight banana, rye, and melon, all a bit faint though. Taste is more potent, great rye and citrus punch through layers of melon, papaya, malt, dry pineapple, and dragonfruit, very cohesive. Feel is hop textured, heavier, juicy and dry simultaneously, and almost chalky near the finish.

Pours a hazed amber with one pinky of pearl colored head. Good lacing above average head retention
S: Citrus & breadyness, a kiss of peppery rye & a little dankness
T: Tangerine, peach, peppery rye, a little bready dryness & a touch of lime up front. Nectarine & orange sweetness, a little grassyness and lime as this warms, plus pineapple. Finishes a little dry, with pineapple & a little lime
MF: Medium body, creamy carbonation, lovely balance
Drinks too easy, well excuted take on the style, plenty juicy!

Pretty good - a little murky but not extremely hazy in glass. Lovely lacing and color. Nose has lots of mango and grapefruit. Pineapple notes come out more as it warms.
Taste is just ok. Mouthfeel is a little cloying, making the otherwise lovely malts bring out a slightly overripe quality on the longer.
This beer could use a balancing dose of bitterness to fix a lot of its ills. Just not enough contrast on the palette for me

Released 12/18/19; drank 12/23/19 @ the Yarchives.
Cloudy orange appearance.
A violent pour yielded a HUGE eggshell head; a thick curtain of tree-rung lace.
Melon, banana, orange citrus & mild rye spice notes in the nose.
Creamy, medium mouthfeel.
Orange citrus, cream & melon flavors up front; faint dry rye notes on the finish.
Balanced & enjoyable, with plenty of flavor. I'd have another!

16oz undated can poured into a pint glass shows a cloudy orangeish yellow body with rising bubbles, floating a thin, off-white, cap of tiny bubbles and leaving erratic spotted lacing.
Aromas of spicy rye and peach flow into the citrusy rye flavors seamlessly on a velvety carpet ride. Candied cherry and almost bubblegum tastes linger.
Overall a very pleasant experience.
