Pours like motor oil into the glass. Pitch black color with a finger of dark mocha, reddish-tinted head that dissipates surpirsingly slow for a 12% beer.
Aroma is definitely reminiscent of Nutella with the coffee more in the background. There’s a bright hazelnut note that doesn’t come off artificial and loads of dark and even some milk chocolate. The chocolate presence is almost like fudge. The coffee presence I’m sure has decreased due to age, but what is there isn’t acrid or green pepper like I can get in other aged coffee beers. Caramel, nougat, and roasted malts round out the aroma
Taste definitely follows the aroma. This is almost like Nutella flavored coffee if there was ever such a thing. Big Ferrero Rocher vibes on this one with the enormous hazelnut and chocolate presence. Crazy that they can get that much chocolate in a beer purely from the malts. The coffee is a little more present in the taste than in the aroma. Milk chocolate ganache, bright roasted hazelnut, bittersweet chocolate chip, dark chocolate fudge, coffee, caramel, roasted malt, slight vanilla, light nondescript fruitiness. It’s sweet, but there’s a slight touch of alcohol on the finish actually dries out the beer a bit.
Full body with a dense, silky, creamy feel. Low carbonation which achieves that soft, silky feel. Drinks like a big thick pastry stout rather than a porter.
This is yet another great addition to the Pressed series. Probably top 3 for me in the series along with the maple and vanilla variants. It’s not even about the coffee in this one, it’s the awesome hazelnut and chocolate presence that mimics Ferrero Rocher chocolates. Shaun at Phase Three is a wizard when it comes to dark beers and this beer is evidence of that.

16oz can poured into a snifter. The nose features mouthwatering notes of coffee and hazelnut. Much of the same flavors in the taste. Great coffee flavor, the hazelnut is really nice too. It’s definitely there but doesn’t overpower.

16 ounce can into a snifter. Had 4/26/20.
Pours an oily looking dark brown, opaque, with a quarter inch foamy head and some filmy cling. Aromas of hazelnut, coffee, milk chocolate, some malt, a little cocoa and fudge. The flavor shows less hazelnut and more coffee than the aroma, then milk chocolate, malt, light fudge. Smooth, a solid full body, well carbonated.
The hazelnut is great, especially in the aroma, and the coffee is good, too. Focused, but well executed. Very enjoyable.

Can as extra courtesy of DraftDaddy.
Very dark brown, thick creamy dark brown head.
Nose: hazelnuts, syrup, coffee.
Taste: good coffee with a lot of hazelnut flavored syrup added. Very sweet. Milk. Little roasty and boozy.
Mouth: medium to thick. As expected.
Overall: nice presentation. A little sweet but not too extreme. Coffee and hazelnut definitely work well together. The sweetness is stronger than the booziness.

Has a little light head, but otherwise looks like the rest in the series, full and frothy. Smell is immaculate: huge hazelnut both roast and nut, coffee, chocolate, slight maple. Taste balances the hazelnut, chocolate and coffee so well, with accenting maple, earth, and malt. Feel is roasted, thick but not too heavy, slight frothiness within its creaminess. Best in the series so far

Dark thick pour with a creamy tan head. I let it sit about fifteen minutes before tasting. Awesome nose...I could practically taste the beer just by smelling it...chocolate, hazelnuts, coffee...it’s all there before the first sip. Creamy mouthfeel. Tastes just as great as it smells...very balanced with the chocolate, coffee and hazelnut...this could be the one that changes my mind about hazelnuts and beer.

This is some decadent stuff. Pours a dark mahogany brown, the foam is slow to build but eventually rises like a puffy mocha marshmallow.
Aroma is huge, toasted hazelnuts, rich coffee, and fudgy chocolate.
Taste is more of the same, everything in excess, but all the elements come together nicely. The coffee is especially rich, and the hazelnut is natural, nutty and caramelized. Creamy and viscous, drinks like a melted milkshake. This is my kind of “pastry stout”, decadent and rich without the cloying sweetness.

Released 2/12/20; drank 2/14/20 @ the Yarchives.
Black appearance.
A violent pour yielded a HUGE dark khaki head; thick, frothy tree-rung lace.
Hazelnut, coconut, milk chocolate & faint light roast coffee bean notes in the nose.
Thick, milkshake mouthfeel.
Hazelnut, coconut, milk chocolate & light roast coffee bean flavors; no booze heat.
A great mouthfeel and hazelnut covering up the sins of Tugboat coffee make this my favorite Pressed yet!
