poured from a 750mL bottle into a perennial snifter. pours jet black with a thin dark brown foam cap. bourbon, oak, marshmallow and chocolate on the nose. taste follows with a big marshmallow finish. plenty of barrel, big vanilla and chocolate, and a thick, full mouthfeel. really well done vanilla rye. i’m partial to Ugandan vanilla with its marshmallow fluff and chocolate cake flavors. rich and decadent, but highly enjoyable.

An approximate 2.5oz pour into Phase Three Stemmed tasting glass @ the source for FOBAB week.
Great Rye Whiskey notes. Nice vanilla. Dry rye finish. Not boozy at all.

Released spring 2021; drank 6/27/22 @ the Yarchives.
Black appearance.
A slow pour yielded a minimal, noisy dark tan head which quickly dissipated; no lace.
Rich vanilla & milk chocolate notes in the nose.
Thick, lush mouthfeel.
Chocolate syrup & rich vanilla flavors; mild bourbon heat notes emerged as this warmed.
I had pretty high hopes for this one, and while it's very good, it's not transcendent. Not real complex, but it's enjoyable.

Had on tap. Pour pitch black with brown ring. Rye and vanilla dominate the nose with dark chocolate fudge and a hint molasses supporting. Taste takes on the dark oak, with dark chocolate and marshmallow, still doesn't have the depth as others in the series do. Feel is on the warmer side, rye texture cuts through a heavy and viscous body. Reminds me of thundertaker but not as good
