A beer celebrating the Queen of the Bavarian Inn, Carol Asam. A native of Sheffield England, Carol’s proud British accent has filled the halls of the inn for the past 40 years. Just like “her majesty,” this beer is expressive, and no nonsense, yet incredibly graceful on the palate.

16 ounce draft pour into a Stella glass at the Bavarian Inn.
L: Dark brown, brown ruddy head, foam recedes to a collar after a couple of minutes.
S: Chocolate and roasted malts, hints of coffee.
T: Malt forward, roasted and chocolate malts strike a nice balance, not to sweet/not acrid, some bittering hops noticeable on the back.
F: Highly carbonated, medium-weight body, crisp drying feel.
O: To me this drinks like a classic English Stout, not robust but an enjoyable pint.

L: Had this on-tap at The Bavarian Inn, poured into a pint glass. Had a dark, mahogany brown color and a thick, opaque consistency. There was a half inch of foamy, off white, fairly long-lasting head. Good lacing.
S: A so-so aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, and hops.
T: Tasted of small amount of chocolate (could've used more), a lot of roasted malt (present throughout), light hops (mostly in the finish), and a hint of coffee. For the most part this is a not bad flavor, but a little bit too subdued. Some of the ingredients (i.e., the chocolate) need to be more pronounced. Nonetheless, it has a roasty charm.
F: A well-carbonated beer with a super dry finish. Medium-bodied.
O: An uneven beer, but it has some good attributes. Worth a try.
