Pours a crystal clear golden. Not as pale as other grisettes. Lots of funk on the nose. Lots of lemon tart character as well. It's quite tart but not too acidic. I'm not getting that much grape character.

Gris from Amory’s Tomb Brewing. Received on 9/4/21 from @Rub_This_BBQ in NBW BIF #13. 12.7 oz green bottle stored at home at 42 degrees. Reviewed 17/6/21. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Undated bottle. Served at 49.5 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. Final temperature 53.7 degrees.
Appearance – 4.
First pour - Begins nearly colorless and clear.
Body – Pale straw (SRM 2), clear. When rear-lite, same.
Head – Tiny (Maximum one cm, aggressive center pour), off white and fizzy, low density, short retention, diminishing to leave neither crown nor cap.
Lacing – None.
Aroma – 4 – Weak grape and some acetic and lactic acids. No malt, no hops, no yeast.
Flavor – 4 – Begins slightly sour with acetic acid predominating. Some transitory grape flavors occur. No malt per se, no hops, no yeast. No ethanol (5.1% ABV, as marked on container) taste or aroma, however simple alcohols are present. Gastric warming does not occur. No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. End with a trace of tannic acid.
Palate – 4 – Thin, watery, lively carbonation.
Final impression and summation: 3.75 (After deducting 0.25 point for undated personal container) Actually very refreshing with just a touch of grape. The acetic acid hides whatever contribution the rye makes, although a bit of spiciness may be imagined. The oak barrels may be contributing the tannic end-taste.

Pours a light fizzy head, low retention, crystal clear light pale color
Nose is lambic like with cheesy funk, souring bacteria mix, general funk and fruity esters, little lemony with light white grape skin and wine, fair buttery oak
Taste brings nice sour funk, not super funky but quite sour, tart lemony fruit, fruity soft white wine, grape skin and must, nice buttery oak and little vanilla, bright acidity, touch of a spicy rye, flemmy finish with more white wine and grape flesh
Mouth is med bod, lighter carb, fair acidity and a bit flemmy
Overall quite tasty, not quite a grisette more sour but intentional sour and great barrel and white wine
