Definitely a different kind of beer! It's advertised as a "umami" ale and, while it's made with chanterelle mushrooms, you get the earthy feeling more than the earthy flavor. There are herbs and dry fruit (probably apricot, as the can suggests), some woody hops and a sharp, dry, almost medicinal bitterness that comes through at the end. The smell makes it seem a little mustier than it tastes, but it's nice that the one is a little different than the other. If wood elves crafted a saison, I imagine it'd taste like this. Tasty and different. I'm a fan.

Just one note: Pour this beer *slowly*. The suds will jump right out of the glass if you aren't careful.
