Served in 16oz, stemmed pilsner glass. Poured a clean, clear, dark yellow color with an inch of white head that had moderate retention and lacing.
The aroma had some pepper upfront, followed by a bit of grain, no real hop presence, and maybe a touch of lemon?
The flavors were the same, with the cayenne being a bit stronger, and lingering at the back end. I think I picked up a bit more lemon on the tongue, but it was still pretty faint.
The body was fairly typical for the style, light & smooth, with a dry finish.
Drinkability will depend on how much you like the pepper. I had no trouble finishing the pour, but wasn't eager for a second right away.
Overall, a solid little Cinco de Mayo brew. worth a shot if you see it.
