Courtney Servaes' nanobrewery has carved a niche for itself as serving dessert beers, brews that are fruit-oriented. Plus -- and this is important -- Servaes goes beyond city, state and county social distancing mandates. I feel safe drinking here, though I do pick my times.
Tonight I went in 30 minutes before the 10 p.m. closing time to have a full pour of NEIPIE - Pecan Pie. It was interesting. I've never had a New England IPA whose dominant flavor was pecan. But it worked. It poured a light orange color, and its aroma was pecan. Even moreso, its flavor had pecan, but also vanilla and caramel. Granted, you have to have a taste for dessert beers, but if you do, this one will surprise you. I found the 7% ABV pleasantly boozy, too.
