Pours black with a finger of beige khaki foam. Aroma is roasty and toasty malts with hearty bourbon and barrel behind. It brings on some firm heat as the beer warms. Notable cherry swell at the back. Flavor profile is malt forward, hitting roasty, toasty, caramely, and bready along the way. Cherry adds some twangy sourness. Finishes with bourbon that packs some heat. Mouth feel is crispy velvet, like fresh hotel bedsheet linen - not in a bad way at all - firm and consistent. Thickness is full. Overall, a steadfast focus on malts with a dynamic rise of heat at the back. The unfortunate aspect is the cherry that is present in both the nose and taste.
