Pours black with a finger of beige khaki foam. Aroma is roasty and toasty malts, accompanied by tart cherry, chocolate, cocoa nibs, and bourbon. Flavor profile brings chocolate and cocoa nibs much more forward, occupying a notable portion throughout the entire flavor profile. The finish leans further into chocolate notes, as they mingle with the rise of bourbon, oak, and char. Heat on the back is countered by chocolate to provide a smooth finish. Mouth feel is crispy velvet, like fresh hotel bedsheet linen - not in a bad way at all - firm and consistent. Thickness is full. Overall, addition of chocolate smoothed out the beer overall, without shifting the dynamics into overly sweet.
