Bottle 28/62. Limited bottles to club members but I am sure this will show up on draft shortly.
I do not usually rate beers from my local breweries but felt I should make an exception in this case. A bit big for an IPA but once one drinks it, one understands the IPA listing. Pours a dark amber with a finger of head that slowly settled to a thin film. Moderate amount of lacing is left down the glass. Has bit of a white wine aroma but as far as I know, no grapes were used in the making of this beer but leaching of minerals from the concrete gives this beer its unique aroma. Notes of flowers, pears, and grass. The concrete vessel added mineral and vinous flavor but otherwise nothing unusual. Not sure of the hops used but it seems to be Sorachi Ace. Floral notes with hints of passion fruit, pear, and a touch of coconut. The malt adds a bit of caramel, toffee and sweetness but overall this is not a very bitter IPA and certainly not a DIPA. Appears to be bottle conditioned with it getting more cloudy as I get nearer to the bottom of the bottle. It does have good carbonation and does not feel like the 8.5% ABV listed on the bottle.
Good but not that interesting of a beer to warrant the cost of admission.
