Pours a jet-brown body capped with 2.5 fingers of soapy, khaki-hued foam; sub-par head retention yields cloudy islands of cap, an ultra-thin collar of froth, and a few layers of ringed lacing circling the glass.
Aroma brings a soft peanut butter richness with smooth, underlying milk chocolate to start; hints of spent coffee grounds and wisps of dark fruit proceed over the middle of the bouquet, which is then rounded out with a stiff backing of roasted malts to close.
Taste offers suggestions of peanut butter fading quickly upfront as milk chocolate struggles to form; vaguest hints of peanut butter fade into the background as old coffee, thinning roast, and mild dark berry presence are prominent briefly over the mid-palate and into the finish.
Mouthfeel shows a medium-light body along with some light sudsing from a moderate-low carbonation; a slick texture develops as the carbonation fades, and sees the body thinning quickly past the mid-palate; a roasty acidity tingles the palate through the finish and into a semi-wet swallow.
A promising start fades quickly a flavor profile and body which can't match the relative richness of the aroma; as a peanut butter stout, it has its moments, though overall it remains rather basic and wildly imperfect.
