This tranquil Primitive Beer rested on the echo (second-use) of Colorado-grown Perfection Apricots and Noyaux (apricot pits) in Chardonnay barrels. The apricots in this beer have qualities of sun dried apricot fruit leather and hints of strawberry too. The apparent sweetness of the noyaux combined with their croissant aromas and fresh baguette flavors, round out the blend to create a full sensory experience akin to exploring a new corner of a favorite vacation destination.

Pours a dark sunburst orange with brown hues. A top is two fingers of white foam with great retention. Aroma is lead with apricots, with are potent right from the onset. Just behind is grassy hops, green apples, and bright chardonnay. Oak rounds it out, helping dry out the playful contradiction between ripe, juicy apricot notes, and the twangy, tart chardonnay notes. It has a light tartness as a whole, but low acidity. Golden ale yeast note on the front. Flavor profile follows the same sequence, delivering ripe and full apricot right at on the set. Apricot is washed down with chardonnay, oak, green apples, and green grapes. It has a light dryness at the finish. Tartness becomes more pronounced at the finish than the start of the chardonnay notes. It never features much acidity. As the beer warms, a wildflower pollen note starts to appear, but never alters the otherwise apricot -> chardonnay sequence. Mouth feel is medium thickness. Texture falls off steeply, with an initial creaminess that breaks down to stillness. Overall, the apricot notes are just delightful. Tartness is wonderful. Served on cask this beer drinks splendidly well.
