473 mL can from Maud's Variety; dated Feb 12 2022 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a turbid pale yellow colour, with more than two fingers of puffy, foamy, sparkling white head erupting from the surface. It recedes slowly, dropping down to a lumpy, quarter-inch cap and collar in just over five minutes, with gobs of lovely lace splattered all over the glass - looks great to me. Melon, passion fruit, mango and apricot on the nose, with hints of grapefruit, berries and orange pith.
It's a nice Galaxy-heavy DIPA, featuring a range of citrus, tropical and stone fruit flavours. Mango, melon and orange at the forefront, with notes of apricot, grapefruit and passion fruit developing later on. Finishes a bit grassy, with pithy bitterness preceding a muddled fruity aftertaste that dries off quickly; the alcohol content is noticeable, but integrates well enough. Medium-full in body, with moderately low carbonation that weakly tickles the surface of the tongue; feels soft and a little fluffy - pleasurable to sip, and reasonably drinkable for over 8%.
Final Grade: 3.92, a B+. Counterpart's Rhythm is a fairly typical modern DIPA - hazy as hell, a little warming, with citrus and tropical fruit flavours galore. Not exactly a stand-out in the crowd, but I like it - if I happen upon another can, I'd give it another shot. Any hophead can consider this worth looking out for, and fans of hazy DIPAs in particular might want to keep their eyes peeled.

L: Opaque, straw yellow/orange in colour. Generous head receding to a foam collar.
S: Abundant citrus notes (peach, mango, orange). Slight boozy taste but not much.
T: Citrus stone fruits.
M: Dry hoppy taste with a tart finish.
O: I am happy with this brew. Although not outstanding (slightly harsh (tart) tasting - the higher alcohol?) it is a satisfying brew.
