This Westie was made with 100% Simcoe hops, a real ruby red grapefruit bomb. With a touch of malt, soft bitterness & additional notes of cotton candy & tangerine, this WCIPA is true to style & incredibly easy to drink.

Canned Jan 3rd '23. Reviewed on Jan 28th. West Coast IPA, singl-hopped with Simcoe, hence the name. Pour is a clear light amber, with almost no head, carbonation is low, Taste is typical IPA, with the Simcoe hops giving it a light citrus taste, The finish is clean.
It's ok, but definitely some distance from the top tier beers readily available in the PNW.

You know that friend you have who tries really hard to be hipster? He runs out and gets skinny jeans, suddenly knows the words to every Ray LaMontagne song, and goes from clean shaven to lumberjack in a month or so? This is that guy as a Pacific NW beer.

Do you like Simcoe hops? I do (check my other ratings). It's hard to mess up when you're using them (at least to my palate), but many do. Ex Novo does not. Perfect Simcoe IPA.
