22 oz bomber purchased from Lifesource.
$4.99
Poured from the bottle..it has a cascadeing effect for a minute..its a black ale as expected but with a large tightly bubbled tan head.
Fine aromas of cocoa. semi dark roast coffee and Yoohoo chocolate milk . Nice.
Taste similar but very thick creamy and luscious. Really nice licorice aspects in the end.
Great smooth low carbonated mouth feel.
This one is a keeper! . A nice simple ,tasty stout.

$ 9.11 (Including shipping)/bomber ($ 0.414/oz) from Blackwell’s, San Francisco, CA.
Dated 11/29/16 on the end of the UPC code bar, stored at 42 degrees and served at 60 degrees in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter.
Appearance – 4.
Body – Dark brown/black, opaque.
Head – Large (Maximum 8.3 cm, pour started aggressive then became slow and controlled), tan, medium density with rocks, diminishing to a shallow concave crater-like layer with a 1.5 cm wall. A few medium-sized islands of tiny bubbles hang on the inside of the glass.
Lacing – Just a few small islands of tiny bubbles.
Pour – Dark brown, hazy.
Aroma – 4 - Sweet caramel.
Flavor – 4 - Begins moderately sweet with a caramel/toffee-ish flavor. It ends with just a hint of malt and hop bitterness, just enough to balance the sweetness. There is no trace of hops in either flavor or aroma. No alcohol (6.5% ABV). No diacetyl and no dimethylsulfide. It ends mildly bitter with a long hang-time.
Palate – 4 - Medium, creamy, medium carbonation.
Impression and summation – 4 – This is a very good take on the English sweet stout style although a bit on the thin side. The size of the head took me by surprise and caused me to over-pour, resulting in the loss of a few milliliters of brew and the paucity of lacing was mildly disturbing, but was, at worst, a minor distraction. The flavor profile is in keeping with the style and is better than most American attempts and some legitimate British stouts from Orkney or Innis & Gunn. The low price point overcomes all objections and makes this an excellent buy.

On tap at the bewery restaurant. Dark brown in the 12 oz nonic with a modest foam. Malty body with a pleasing fizzy mouthful. Somewhat sweet, more malty than grainy. More of a sweet Porter flavor than a typical Stout. Lots of roasted flavors with a caramel undertone. Overall a better than average dark brew.
