Hot with alcohol. Not such a fat body, though the malt is plentiful. It's kind of a wheat and barley wine. Mellow malt flavors with a sharp edge. Fairly bitter at the finish. Fruity notes. Rhubarb and lime peel. Winey sensation. Pleasing taste, but not the most drinkable.

Exactly as the menu description says, this is a shockingly drinkable 9.5% IIPA. I'd add some tropical flavors to the tasting notes, but this, along with the Cardinal Sim IPA, puts Ex Novo in the running for best IPAs in Portland in my opinion. Very happy to see this place continuing to progress.
