Crisp and refreshing, this Mexican Lager was brewed with Vienna and Pilsner malts with a hint of flaked corn. Don’t fear the lime!

this is just called mexican lager now, branded as such, i think they got something from dos equis maybe, not sure, but its the same beer under a new name, i am sure of it. its fine yellow summer drinking beer, but its neither is obviously high quality as i expected from these guys who maintain a sterling reputation, nor as outright mexican to me, like the corn element in the mash is well behind the other grain in here, and it lacks that little bit of fruitiness i like from the usual mexican lager yeast strain, this is a little more neutral in its fermentation profile, not a bad thing, and its fine beer, but its a bit less full of character than i think i was hoping for, i still expect to be wowed by these guys every time. the pour is brighter yellow, average white head on it from the patterned can, good clarity, fine carbonation. aroma is clean, the opposite of interesting really but thats not a bad thing for this style, its fresh smelling, crispy, cereal grain more than corn to me, trace lager yeast presence, minerality that makes it snappy and quick even in the nose. the flavor is a little less tight, more grainy i think than i expected, and with some linger from it, lightly sweet in the middle, corn still evident, maybe a hint of a metallic thing but not cheap tasting, it doesnt warm up great either but so few of these do, light hop bitterness helping the crispness, a tad more body than a lot of these have but still a real easy drinker. this one almost reads more to me like a budget yellow american beer play rather than a mexican lager crafted as such, and its not one of the more impressive beers ive had from ex novo, but its easy and refreshing and thats probably fine. new cans looks really good too.

Draft at brother jon’s alehouse. Pale golden, clear, scant head. Cereal aroma gets fuller in the taste, bready, crackers, mild sweetness, light crispness. Not necessarily interesting, but pretty damn good.

Drinking from a can marked 23 May 2023. It’s a lager. Bit too sweet and heavy for me. I would prefer a High Life in this humid as fuck weather. This was a gift and I appreciate that but would not buy this if I saw it.

From Beer Drop. Canned 08/03/2022.
Pours a clear straw yellow with a small and short lived head of foam. Still, there is some lacing.
The smell is of grain, corn, hints of perhaps, lime?
The taste is grainy, some corn, light sweetness, kinda bitter, no sign of any lime that I thought I smelled.
Light bodied, plenty of carbonation.
Interesting but the name exceeds the beer itself.

Pours a crystal clear, golden straw in color with a half inch of frothy head that dissipates over time to a thin layer of bubbles. Carbonation looks average. A better than average look for an adjunct.
Aroma is predominantly sweet malts with floral, grassy and lemony hops. A bit of a white wine/grape going on as well. No off-notes in there, and it hints at a quality brew.
Aroma follows the nose pretty closely. Lots of sweet malts up front and a hint of corn with the floral, grassy, soapy, lemony, white wine hops coming through in the middle and towards the swallow. Finishes with a lingering maltiness with a hint of lemon. This is an interesting flavor profile, it's almost a mash-up between a typical Mexican lager, an American adjunct and a German pilsner.
Mouthfeel is light bodied but not thin with a decent butteriness. Carbonation is average but very zesty... maybe a tad too zesty for my tastes. It is quite drinkable and refreshing, although it finishes a tad dry.
The most interesting lager in the world? Perhaps not, but it's definitely in the top ten list. I've had a handful of better lagers than this, and even a smaller number of better American adjunct lagers, so this is definitely quality stuff that deserves the hype. If you're wanting something a bit more sophisticated to drink on a hot day, give this one a try. I did not partake it with lime but I imagine it would pair quite well. Cheers!

12oz can poured into Duvel tulip. CANNED ON 05/31/19 printed on bottom rim of can. Picked it up at the grocery store for $2. Looking forward to this not living up to its name.
Appearance - Pours a large white head with patchy, erratic "lacing" and decent retention. Opaque light gold body. 5
Smell - Round, oaty, corny malt. Almost like dry cardboard too. 5
Taste - Full flavored with citrus and hop coming in way more prominently than I've ever seen in American Adjunct Lager, other than maybe Budweiser Reserve. It almost doesn't even feel fair to call this an AAL because it's really nothing like one. Actually very tasty all throughout with a clean, somewhat bitter and sour aftertaste. 5
Mouthfeel - Medium bodied. The head brings a ton of creaminess, but the body itself has a cleansing astringency. Finishes light and clean. 5
Overall - Keep in mind I rate beers in style. As a beer, it gets maybe 4's to 4.5's across the board, but because I'm rating in style the competition isn't exactly stiff. So this is legitimately a perfect 5 beer, in style, as an American Adjunct Lager. I'm pretty sure the only time I've ever given an AAL a perfect 5 was the Budweiser Brewmaster's Reserve back in '06 or whenever that was.

Lightly hazed pale gold with two big fingers of white head. Splotches of lace form as level drops.
Pungent grain with mild herbal hops.
Taste Is grassy herbal bitter hop bite followed by malt and grains.
Mouthfeel is medium with good carbonation. Finish is dry mildly bitter and pretty balanced.
Overall a tasty craft Mexican style lager.
Canned on date: 2/25/19, so not quite one month old.

Pours an ever so slightly hazy yellow with a nice sized thick, creamy head.
Typical Mexican lager aromas..cardboard, hay some grass etc. OK
Smooth grassy/honey malts taste.. semi sweet and no off flavors.
Good mouth feel for style medium carbonation and medium mouth i think adds to this beer.
A good simple pale lager..

He pours like a swimming pool. Made of gold. With white foam on top.
He smells like grandpa's passed out seeping pores at a holiday gathering by that swimming pool. In a good way.
If He could have a flavor, it might be made of corn. And rice. And floral, peppery hops.
He struts smoothly. Every step, crisp, balanced, and flawless.
He is...The Most Interesting Lager In The World.
*Bottom line, if it were cheaper than Modelo, I'd buy the sh*t out of this. Salud!
