Hazy, pink/amber color. Big off-white head. Berries, malt ,and some wood in the aroma. Tart taste with light malty sweetness. Refreshing and easy to drink.

L: Glowing ruby body with a one finger light pink head.
S: Sweet with an edge of tartness. Raspberry, strawberry, and a slightly, perfumy vanilla, or perhaps it’s wheat?
T: Much more tart than the nose gives on. Tart raspberry, flowing back and forth with sweeter strawberry, a hint of citrus and a bit of bready malt in the body. The finish leaves sea salt on the lips.
F: Crisp, moderate puckering if left in the mouth, dry finish.
O: Delicate, here, sharp there. Nice balance, especially with that salty finish. Lovely beer to scratch the berry itch.

12 oz can

Pours hazy raspberry pink. Pinkish white head dissipates to nothing.

Smells of fresh mixed berries, cracker malt and citrus tartness.

Flavor is of raspberry, blueberry, lemon, tangerine, and cracker malt.

Light body, stinging carbonation.

Fruity, tart, and refreshing. Drinks easy. Tastes very fresh and natural. Would have again occasionally. Good early summer beer.

Pour is a blushing muddled pink that is the colour of blended watermelon. Decent two finger off rose head that settles slooowly but eventually.

Nose is blunt sour wheat with just a hint of berry juices. As it warms it develops a slightly jammy top layer which appeals to me.

Flavour has a bit more character and depth to it, but at its core is the same ideas. There's the sour wheat foundation with a trellis of tart juicy berries on top and then the same jammy development as it warms.

Tart carbonation over a dry body with a sticky component that keeps the craw engaged throughout and beyond. It's refreshing in this abominable heat.

These beers are always a bit difficult to review. Is it a traditional Gose? Absolutely not. Did they accomplish their mission and execute it properly? Absofrigginlutley. Merryin' Berries pours a vibrant dark pink. Megenta even. A thin wispy pink head is only around for a moment. As advertised, this things screams raspberries and the Oregon love child berry that is a Marion in aroma and flavor. Perhaps a squeeze of lemon, and a pinch of salt. It's light, tart, salty, sweet, and ultimately refreshing. It's delicious, and I'd love to have this on a warm spring day. Here's hoping for one soon. Cheers!

Poured from 22oz bomber into a tulip glass. I don't see any dates on the bottle, but I can say that my wife picked this up for me while in Portland a couple of weeks ago.

Appearance: holy guacamole, that's an interesting look. Salmon pink with a finger of frothy ivory foam; there's a pink tinge to the head that might be due to just the body's mighty hazy pink character. Whatever the case may be, I like it.

Smell: very wheaty; there's a maltiness and slight sourness that just read as "beery" to me. The berries/fruit are kind of disguised here.

Taste: good berry flavor; there's a good sweetness and a prickly acidic berry quality. Raspberry and blackberry definitely come to mind here; good, if a bit muddled.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and a good creaminess for the style. I quite like it.

Overall: this beer is obviously all over the place for me. The smell is rough and unpromising; the flavor has a lot going for it but is muddled, and the texture is quite nice. Overall, this is definitely a beer worth trying if you get your hands on it, but it's not worth going crazily out of your way to do so.
