Slamarillo pours much more to my liking for a "Hazy" IPA. It's actually almost clear, just like a well made unfiltered beer. Bright golden body with an admirable white foamy head. Not a ton of lace, but enough to get some respect, and the cap stays at a quarter inch in heighth almost the entire time.
I must admit, the aroma scares me just a bit. Although there are distinguishable notes of tropical fruits such as mango and even pineapple, there most certainly is a buttery aroma. Heavy too. Kind of hard to get past.
It's clearly in the flavor as well. Overall, the flavor is very reminiscent of a cocktail. A Mimosa to be exact. Champagne and fruit juice. Or a very buttery Chardonnay. Take your pick. It tastes like both. Combined.
It kind of feels like it too. Almost spritzy. High carbonation, silky body, even a little oily. Despite all if that, it is quite easy to drink. Very balanced, and to be perfectly honest, I'm not even detecting much bitterness at all.
I feel like perhaps something might have gone wrong here. It's barely hazy, and barely an IPA. Bad can? Maybe. But if I were to categorize this, I'd put a check mark in the Bier Brut box. Cheers.
