nice looking pint can here, very mild take on the style, and much like their mexican lager i had right before it, i kind of found it lacking in key areas for what its trying to be, like this isnt big on the quintessentially german pils type malt character nor that lightly fruity yeast that typically define the style, i think less character from both than expected and perhaps desired, still a drinkable and even refreshing beer, even if wouldnt quite call it worthy of having crisp in the name, its fresh enough, quite light, and hits in warm weather without question, just leaves a little to be desired as an authentic kolsch, almost more of a dry blonde type to me, but perhaps i am being too critical of a beer just meant to be easy, which i guess their mexican lager also kind of satisfies. aroma and flavor of this show light pale malt, subtle dry earthiness, possibly noble hops but mellow in aroma, flavor, and bitterness for sure, snappy and quick but without a big fermentation presence to my senses, just the feeling of being nicely cold conditioned, but the flavor seems a little monotone to me without more of that. frothed up sort of feel which supports the grain really well, and combined with the high carbonation and quick finish its the texture of this that makes it for me, even being as relaxed in actual flavor as it is, and as such its best when its frosty cold i reckon, less compelling at temperature. not as overtly as impressive as i generally expect from ex novo, which makes two in a row that came in a little underwhelming, but the beer is good and tidy and easy.

Light straw color, wispy head. Light biscuit dough nose. Taste is very true to the style - light bitterness and dry finish. Malt is very thin, could use a little more body and taste.

Clear pale gold with three fingers of white head. Splotches of lace appear as the head drop.
Smell is floral hops with some bready malts.
Taste is floral hops with bready malts.
Mouthfeel is mildly carbonated and light bodied. Finish is mildly dry and balanced.
Overall a tasty kolsch. No date found on the can.

Look: Lightly opaque straw yellow with a spritzy head that recedes quickly leaving minimal lacing
Aroma: Straw, lemongrass, floral hops, some fruity esters, and cracker-like malt notes
Taste: Floral hops tango with crackers up front, soon after is the straw and lemongrass notes. Some fruity esters as well but in and out of the fold. Very clean finish with no dryness, begging for more sips
Mouthfeel: Light but full-flavored, medium carbonation, and extremely clean and crisp through and through
Overall: A tasty one right here. A nice take on a Kolsch – one of my favorite styles and glad I grabbed it today. Personally, I could take even more floral hops in the taste (though the nose is great) but it’s hard to nitpick when this is as damn tasty as it is. Delicious

16 oz can from Lifesource Natural Grocers in Salem OR.
$3.49
This ones brewed in Corralles NM.
Pours the lightest of yellow..great carbonation streams..nice frothy white head..that hangs around for quite some time.
Aromas of slight grassy hop, light band aid and creamy bready malts. Trad and simple and great.
Taste like the aroma..well balanced..nice wee grassy/spice hop at the very end.
Excellent summer mouth feel medium carbonation on a soft body..very nice.
This is an excellent rendition of the style.
