Pours a deep copper, a color I haven't seen in a while, plus plenty of foam in the Hopleaf goblet. This is brewed with Amarillo and Centennial hops. While hugely hopped, this seems to be an advance over the old school Red and Amber Ales that so often were just bitter. This iimperial version has plenty of malt with an iinviting note of sweetness.
Aroma of of straw, cereal, and a citrus nose. The flavor of caramel to go with the sweetness is quite pleasing. Plus some mango and orange peel. From the 16 oz can purchased at Whidby Beer Works. Dated 2/8/21 on the bottom.
