i so loved their malbec wild beer recently i was even more keen to try this one. a lambic style base, done in clear glass bottles, with pinot noir grapes and the fermenters they house. amazing project and killer result, its really strong, beer wine hybrid in that regard too, but it doesnt drink like it. the color is radiant almost flamingo pink, lovely color saturation and tone, rose glow, beautiful, even with very little head. almost looks like a pinot noir in the glass. aroma here is amazing, funky and tart, more sour than i remember the malbec one being, maybe less grape tannins but more oak ones here, more bacterial acidity, and more overall maturity and funk, like this was really long aged, very cool with the freshness that the fruit still seems to have. grape juice and finished wine elements to the flavor, very little grain character but this does take on a lambic vibe overall. its not too sour or alcoholic to drink, its actually kind of addicting, and has notes of black cherry, red currant, and musty basement. very complex, very fruit forward, frankly super well done. i thought these guys were all hype driven hazy beers and adjunct stouts and stuff, but i have been blown away by their wild stuff and wine hybrids lately, this is a banger, im sure it will age real well too. these guys are high on my list to visit when i am back in portland next! this special beer is not to be missed for the grape beer enthusiasts!
