West Coast IPA brewed in collaboration with the infamous Powells Books to benefit independent bookstores nationally. This IPA was brewed with Citra and experimental hop HBC 586. Notes of tangerine, pineapple and lychee with a clean and bitter finish.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium golden amber with a two finger white head with great retention and solid lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, citrus and pine hops, orange, pine, mixed stone fruit and a little dankness. Flavor is pale malt, citrus and pine hops, lemon, grapefruit, hints of mixed tropical fruit and pine. Nice bitter piney and citrus rind finish. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. A classic West Coast style IPA of the pale rather than caramel malt style. Fine citrus and pine character with the pine lingering well into the finish with a health hop bitterness. I'm a big fan of Powell's and rather like this IPA too.
