Our beloved Most Interesting Lager in the World is a staple of ours, an old stand by. We wanted to add another Mexican-style cerveza as a seasonal offering...cue Milagro Oscuro, our toasty, bready, caramel-ey Mexican style lagerbier. Salud!

Good beer! Smooth and super crushable. It's not really a Vienna Lager style, as BA has it labeled. This is more of an American version of a Munich Dunkel style. Ex Novo makes a specific Vienna Style Lager, and this Milagro Oscuro is definitely not a Vienna.

Appearance: It pours slightly darker than your usual macro Mexican dark lager and with a head that dissipates fairly quickly. Nose: Little detectable aroma, but this is to be expected from a lager. There are some notes of toasted bread and some lingering sweetness. Taste: A pretty light flavor, but one that is fairly well balanced with a tiny bit of bitterness followed by sweetness. This beer has mostly nutty and bready elements to it. Mouthfeel: Medium body for a lager and with light carbonation. Overall: A nice Mexican dark lager but not one with a whole ton of complexity.

Look: Dark brown on the pour and looks black in the glass with an awesome-looking tan head that settles to a pillow, leaving great lacing behind as it does
Aroma: Warm brown bread, toasted grains, a little earthiness, and toasted bread crust
Taste: Bready malt is what opens it up as expected and quickly followed by toasted bread and even a little dough note that all intermingle and deepen. Light earthy notes come and go throughout and closes with yep, more bread
Mouthfeel: Full but light, very clean throughout, medium-high carbonation, and a clean and slightly crisp finish
Overall: I dig it. I respect and enjoy these folks’ beer and I’m also a sucker for a good dark Mexican lager so was glad to score this after missing the last release. It’s tasty, well-made, and refreshing which is everything I’m looking for in the style and is executed well here

Clear, dark, mahogany brown body; sparse, coarse carbonation; nice head, one-finger thick, dense and lasting. Outstanding dark malt aroma; roasted grains and rich chocolate; mild caramel; moderate bitterness. Medium body; fairly smooth and glassy; grain char astringency in the background.
A very nice, dark lager, smooth and inviting.
Pouring temperature: 45 °F; canning data: CANNED ON 01/10/22
